Alliance rules
Every ŪNIT member is expected to know and follow these.
01General
- 1Listen to leadership.
- 2Play with a level of maturity and be respectful. That’s what we stand for.
- 3Treat others how you would want to be treated.
- 4GC is a no-go. Stay off it entirely: it’s toxic and nothing good comes from being active in that space.
- 5Going to be away from the game for more than a week? Send a message to leadership.
02Rules of engagement
- 1Don’t be a dick. Every action has a reaction, so act accordingly: it impacts the whole alliance.
- 2Respect the deep space ROE: hits are for taking mine, not for pirating.
- 3Allies and friendlies: no hits. If you see one, be a good ally and warn them of their cap.
- 4Token systems (Voyager) are no-hit zones.
- 5Note the list of “no touch” players on the alliance announcements channel. They are former members and are to be treated as if they are still in ŪNIT.
- 6Retaliation is against the aggressor only. If someone hits you UC, notify leadership (including a screenshot of the log list) and hit them back. No need to make anyone innocent pay for something someone else did.
- 7UC hits are not permitted unless it’s during a state of war, and you’ll certainly know when that happens.
- 8Zero nodes are OK, but be good about it: send a message first.
- 9Idle warships are not to be hit, especially if crewed for hostiles.
- 10Stay out of Borg territories (see the Borg agreement below).
03Ships on nodes
- 1Amalgams are not a mining ship.
- 2Feesha and D’Vor are for latinum nodes only.
- 3Meridian is for isogen only.
- 4Only Voyager is protected on anomaly nodes.
04Mining in our territory
Our Barasa nodes are in high demand. These rules apply in the Alpha (G5) and Beta (G4) systems so everyone can mine what they need.
- 1Use your fastest miner and fastest mining crew. No BB or Meridians.
- 2Don’t zero these nodes for long: 15 minutes max, or you may be cleared.
- 3Don’t camp on these nodes. Give other people a chance to actively mine.
- 4Only 1 ship per person mining.
- 5Only 1 ship per isogenite system.
05Armadas
- 1Leaders are responsible for making sure the attendees have enough power to win. No one wants a repair bill with nothing to show for it.
- 2Everyone who wants to join calls “In”.
- When several armadas are running at once, call the leader you want: “In Jimmy”.
- If you didn’t call in, DO NOT WARP TO THE ARMADA.
- 3Leaders call when they’re full and who’s attending, e.g. “Full: Hood, Neitz, Lep, Jim, Kona”.
- 4If you called in but aren’t on that list, STOP WARP.
- 5Leaders watch their armada and lock in crews as they arrive, matching who called.
- 6If someone needs replacing because of their warp timer, that person AND the armada leader find the replacement.
- 7Be considerate and responsible.
06Formation Armadas
There always needs to be a QB. Then, in order:
- 1A call for 3 starters.
- 2A call for 2 Relativities, and which leg each is going to (Static or Charged).
- 3A call for who is starting which leg.
- 4The first 9 participants who call.
- 5Everyone stays online and watches AC.
- 6Make sure the Relativity has the correct status (Charged or Static).
- 7Balance the power.
Follow those 7 steps and everything will be smooth. It might take longer, but it has a higher success rate with far fewer frustrations.
07Territories & defenses
- 1Be ready at least 30 minutes ahead. Get ships to the system and set up for defense well before the start. Leadership will give details in AC if needed.
- 2No starting armadas in the 35 minutes before a ŪNIT defense starts.
- 3For ŪNIT defenses, every dock has a warship, crewed for battle, in the system and ready. All ships in system: NO MINERS.
- 4During active takeovers you’ll get instructions on where to be and when beforehand. If you haven’t been told, default to the Beta system.
- 5Note the schedule and be ready.
- 6Taxes are due Thursday and Saturday and are paid by all members. Taxes are the mandatory territory refines that keep our territory services running: you reap the rewards of controlling territories, so you help the cause.
08Borg agreement (non-aggression pact)
- 1A general stance of non-aggression towards Borg. Simply put, don’t pull the lion’s tail. Before you do anything toward Borg, think: would you want this done to you?
- 2ŪNIT members may not enter Borg territory, except:
- To complete Q’s Trials.
- In retaliation for a Borg hit on a ŪNIT member, against the aggressor only, and within our ROE.
09Probation
- 1New members go through a probation period with zero tolerance for breaking the rules above. During probation you won’t have access to the alliance Discord.
